Generous doesn’t come close to the love that was poured out of friends and family of Willie Schoellkopf who gave to the Sportsmen’s Americana Music Foundation in Willie’s name.  On March 17th, we celebrated Willie’s life at the Sportsmen’s Tavern.  It was a memorialization like no other; love filled the room.  The donations were generous and I’m sure Willie is honored by this outpour. We know his wife Collette is.  They both have a big heart (no past tense there, his heart is still with us) when it comes to SAMF and we will be honoring them by using the funds to create one of our many educational endeavors in Willie’s name.  Thank you Willie and Collette.

Had the privilege and pleasure of playing with Willie in the Kensingtons band. He also provided the harmony vocals on my Simple Matter of Twang CD and was a major contributor to our “Erie County Bar-B-Q” legal parody CD project.
    Miss him a lot.

We first discovered The Kensington’s when Wille was with the band. “Into the Mystic” is both his signature song at The Sportsmans Tavern and also our heartfelt wish for his sendoff.
