There are two deadlines this month due to two of the shows happening in early September. To be eligible, you must be a current member of the Sportsmen’s Americana Music Foundation. You can always become a member HERE. It’s a great way to support the work the SAM Foundation does.

The first event is the Sportsmen’s Tavern presenting the 6th Annual Red, White, Rock ‘n Blues Concert benefitting the Veterans One Stop Center of WNY.

Sunday, Sept. 10  3 p.m. $25
At Sportsmen’s Park, the Sportsmen’s Tavern and the Cave

The other show early in the month is a Big Easy production at Buffalo Ironworks. It features Jon Cleary and the Absolute Monster Gentlemen.

Tuesday, Sept.. 12   7 p.m. $22 advance/$25 day of show

For the Sportsmen’s show on Sept. 10 and the Jon Cleary show at Ironworks on Sept. 12,  the deadline is Friday, Sept. 8th at 9 p.m.

Email me at to enter the drawings. Only put in for the shows you can attend.

We’re offering four more shows this month.

Driftwood at Buffalo Ironworks on Sept. 29.

Buffalo’s own, Organ Fairchild, on Oct. 7 at Buffalo Ironworks for an album release show.

Daniel Champagne, Sept. 20, in the 9th Ward at Babeville.

When Buffalo Eyes are Smiling,  Sept. 29 in Asbury Hall at Babeville.

The deadline for Driftwood, Organ Fairchild, Daniel Champagne and When Buffalo Eyes are Smiling is Friday,  Sept. 15, at 9 p.m.

Again, email me at to enter the drawings and only put in for the shows you can attend.

I will email the winners ASAP after the deadline, and you must confirm that you are aware you’ve won, and you are using the tickets, so pay attention to your emails if you enter the drawings.

And if you’re an active member of the SAM Foundation, why wouldn’t you enter the drawings. The SAMF and the Sportsmen’s Tavern, Babeville and Buffalo Ironworks are providing this benefit for the membership, take advantage of their generosity and support live music in WNY.

In case you’re not aware of some of these performers or events, I’ve included links where you can learn more about them.

Good luck to all,

Bob McLennan
