This is my last Buffalo Bob article as the SAM Foundation president, but I’m still staying on the Board for now, so in the coming months I’ll have something to say every now and then.
We started this foundation six years ago and I’m the last original board member remaining. I want to thank our founder, Dwane Hall, for choosing me to be part of this exciting initiative.
I want to thank all the previous and current board members for working with me to help build this Foundation into what it is today. And to all the members who’ve signed up and donated their money and their time, thank you for your participation, cooperation and support.
Over these years, we’ve had a lot of different Board members, and this is just the nature of non-profit foundations; people are supposed to be rotated in and out.
I’ve decided to step down from the president’s position and the Board has elected Jason Hall to be president for at least the next 12 months. We have an outstanding group of dedicated individuals who are working hard to make this foundation stronger than ever and continue to grow to meet our mission of expanding appreciation of Americana music in WNY.
We have a great music scene in Buffalo and WNY. Our musicians display their talent every night of the week at venues all over town, especially at the legendary Sportsmen’s Tavern.
It’s been a real pleasure to serve the interests of the Foundation and the music scene in our city and I’m proud of what we have accomplished, and I look forward to bigger and better things coming our way.
