The SAM Foundation production of “The Last Waltz Live” will return to Babeville for the fifth time on Friday, Nov. 18.  The show started in 2017 and every year it has been a sold-out show, with the exception of the missing year of 2020 due to Covid.  This joyous occasion is a Thanksgiving tradition in the Buffalo musical community.
If you’ve somehow missed what this show is, it’s a remarkable collection of some of the most talented musicians and performers in WNY reenacting the movie “The Last Waltz,” which is based on The Band’s 1976 final concert in San Francisco.
Tickets will go on sale to SAMF members only from Tuesday, Sept. 6, to Monday, Sept. 12.  Tickets are $40 for members and $45 for non-members.  Each member will be allowed to purchase two tickets at the members’ price.
On the evening of Sept. 6, you can get your tickets at the SAMF store at the Sportsmen’s Tavern on Foundation Night, which is always free for members on the first Tuesday of the month.  Renew your membership, get your “Last Waltz” tickets and enjoy the Twang Gang on Foundation Night.
After that Tuesday night, you can get your members-price tickets at the Babeville box office by showing your SAMF membership card and on subsequent Tuesday nights at the SAMF store, if available.
Tickets go on sale to the general public on Sept. 12 and will also be available at babevillebuffalo.com for an additional fee. Members prices are not available online.
This year’s beautiful poster is, once again, by Jerry Hall.  Watch the SAMF Facebook page and the next two issues of The JAM for more information.
