BUFFALO BOB SEZ:

FREE MUSIC for SAM FOUNDATION MEMBERS!

The Sportsmen’s Tavern:  Dale Watson and His Lone Stars     June 10th

Dale Watson, keeper of the true country music flame, latest album Call Me Insane, was recorded in Austin with veteran producer Lloyd Maines (Robert Earl Keen, Jerry Jeff Walker, etc.). The Austin-based honky-tonker carries on in the tradition of Johnny Cash, Waylon Jennings and Willie Nelson with his “Ameripolitan” brand of American roots music.

Dale has flown the flag for classic honky-tonk for over two decades. He’s christened his brand of American roots “Ameripolitan” to differentiate it from current crop of Nashville-based pop country. The Alabama-born, Texas-raised Watson may be the hardest working entertainer today and is rapidly approaching legendary status.  He is a country music maverick, a true outlaw who stands alongside Waylon Jennings, Willie Nelson, and George Strait as one of the finest country singers and songwriters from the Lone Star State.

East Aurora Music Festival: Funk & Groove Fest     June 8th

Buffalo Music Coalition returns to Fireman’s Field in East Aurora as part of the East Aurora Music Festival.  The Funk & Groove fest is a festival within the festival.  A great lineup of music, plenty of free parking, food from Moon Doggies, a wide selection of beverages, including beer from Flying Bison, and a lot of room to dance and party!

Babeville: Tommy Emmanuel     May 21st

The real-time exuberance Tommy Emmanuel brings to every note of every song he plays is
palpable and infectious. His fans are in love with his unbound talent as a guitarist of
multitudes, his ability to play three parts at once, always with pure heart and real soul. He
is a true virtuoso. But he seems as delighted always with the magic of the music as the
audience, if not more, and his joy illuminates everything.

Bob Sez: I’ve seen Tommy Emmanuel-he is amazing!

9th Ward:  Gareth Pearson    May 28th

Gareth Pearson is referred to as “The Welsh Tornado” which is particularly appropriate, seeing as this special talent combines fingerstyle pyrotechnics, with explosive lead runs making Pearson one of the most exciting acoustic musicians gigging today.  Gareth has a distinctive style that can be heard through his creative and innovative arrangements which cover a wide spectrum of genres, including country/folk/classical/pop/rock/jazz/swing and bluegrass music, along with his own beautiful and often intricate original compositions.

Drawing his playing style initially from influences such as Chet Atkins, Merle Travis, Jerry Reed and Tommy Emmanuel, he has developed a style that is both inspiring and entertaining.

Buffalo Ironworks: The Heavy Heavy     May 19th

The Heavy Heavy create the kind of unfettered rock-and-roll that warps time and place, immediately pulling the audience into a euphoric fugue state with its own sun-soaked atmosphere. Led by lifelong musicians Will Turner and Georgie Fuller, the Brighton, UK-based band began with a shared ambition of making records that sound “like our favorite records ever,” and soon arrived at a reverb-drenched collision of psychedelia and blues, acid rock and sunshine pop. As revealed on their gloriously hazy debut EP Life and Life Only, The Heavy Heavy breathe an incandescent new energy into sounds from decades ago, transcending eras with a hypnotic ease.

Buffalo Iron Works:  Rihanna vs Beyonce    May 26th

Rihanna vs Beyonce Featuring Universal Phunk takes place at Buffalo Iron Works.  The event will be hosted by Yolanda Smith and feature Megan Brown, Kenyada Davis, Lisa Denise, Jetaun Louie, Blaise Mercedes, Lala Woods and the host band Universal Phunk!

Artpark: Los Lonely Boys     May 31st

Family has always been at the center of things for Los Lonely Boys. Henry, Jojo, and Ringo Garza have been playing and touring together since they were teenagers. In 2019 they decided to take a break to focus on their own growing families. But Summer 2022 saw them back at it again, returning to life on the road alongside The Who. The band has been making music together for seventeen years now, and they show no signs of slowing down or losing inspiration.

The story of how the Garza brothers rode their bluesy “Texican rock & roll” sound from San Angelo, Texas to worldwide fame is one of rock’s great Cinderella tales. The three young brothers formed a band, got signed to a major label, and had a hit single that propelled them to stardom. They have sold 2.5 million records, won a Grammy, and received five more Grammy nominations in the span of their career.

A lot of choices, a lot of variety, a great benefit of membership to be able to possibly win free tickets every month…and there are members who have won multiple times…. enter the drawings, you might get lucky!
